Athletes who have more than one year of rowing experience can join our Varsity Team. Our varsity rowers build upon their existing skills and take their fitness to the next level. Many of our varsity rowers are recruited to row at the collegiate level.

Our Season: Rowing is a year-round sport. When we cannot go on the water, we do indoor workouts on the rowing machine.

Fall: Held late August through January. Typically consists of several 5,000-meter Head Races, including The Head of the Hooch in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Beginning in late November, practices move indoors and focus on strength and conditioning.

Spring: Held from February through late May (or June, for those who qualify for Junior Nationals.) The season starts indoors, then moves onto the water when it is warm enough. The season consists of several regattas, including Midwest Championships in May.

Summer: Held for first 3 weeks in August. Both varsity and experienced novice team members are eligible to participate in this optional summer program.
