ADULT LEARN TO ROW

We offer a 10-session Learn to Row course for adults in March, June, July, and August. It is the perfect introduction to the sport and is the first requirement for joining our Competitive Masters or Recreational Masters teams – unless you have prior rowing experience.

In Learn to Row, we’ll go over the basics of sweep rowing, safety, technique, terminology, equipment, and much more. We’ll begin on the indoor rowing machine, then progress onto the water. This is a unique opportunity to improve your health, make new friends, and spend quality time at beautiful Creve Coeur Lake. Once you have completed the Learn to Row program, you can become a member of our Adult Intermediate team, where you can continue to hone your rowing skills.

All Learn to Row sessions are currently just $295. The March LTR fee covers club membership through September 2024. Be the first LTR class rowing on the lake by early April! Next chance after March 4th to join SLRC via LTR class is not until our June session. Again, your March class includes full club membership and sweep rowing privileges through September 2024! Participants may choose to join SLRC then for the remaining balance of the yearly club dues.

After completion of your LTR session, you automatically become a member of our Intermediate Master’s Team.

INTERMEDIATES

The Intermediates team is for adult novices who have completed the Learn to Row course. On this team, rowers will keep building upon the foundational skills they have learned. Practices are four days a week, and members are welcome to come to one or all practices. While there is no attendance requirement, consistency leads to the quickest progress. Intermediates have the option to attend regattas and race in the novice division. It is up to the coaches to determine how long a rower stays an Intermediate. Most rowers are on this team approximately one year before graduating up to the Competitive Masters or Recreational Masters teams.
