|February (Indoor) Learn-To-Row Class for Adults |
|An introduction to the sport of rowing by the St. Louis Rowing Club for adult men and women. Most of the sessions will be help inside the SLRC boathouse and the rowing done on our Concept2 rowing machines. The February class includes ten sessions spread out over a month. In this class, you will be introduced to:|
Benefits of rowing • Building strength • Fitness • Correct rowing technique • Boathouse and facilities • Equipment used in rowing • Proper boat and equipment handling
Instruction begins with a brief history, tour and discussion of rowing terminology, technique, and safety. Once you've completed the 10 LTR sessions and have learned the basics of the rowing stroke on our rowing machines, you will get hands-on experience in an eight person shell as members of our Adult Novice team. Following a brief lesson at the dock, you will push off and head out onto Creve Coeur Lake. Lessons will then be focussed on proper body position and movement, building boat speed, and working together as a crew. This is a unique opportunity to improve your health, make new friends, and spend quality time at beautiful Creve Coeur Lake.
The February LTR is just $275, and your class tuition includes club membership through July 2014. For more information, call 314-434-8299 or email email@example.com. To enroll online, visit our Dues/Payments page and select the appropriate class in the Adult Rowers column.
