The St. Louis Rowing Club’s members are men and women who are interested in rowing for competition, fitness or recreation.  The club’s Learn-to-Row program provides basic instruction for new rowers. Regularly-scheduled practice sessions, led by our coaching staff, are held for novice and experienced sweep rowers (1 oar/person) and scullers (2 oars/person), for high school and adult rowers. The club owns a complete selection of sweep and sculling boats, ranging from singles to eights. SLRC crews regularly compete in regional and national regattas for both the adult and junior squads.

  • Regular: Dues for individual adult members are $550 per year
  • Family: Memberships for two or more members of the same family are available at $825 per year
  • Junior: Dues for high school rowers are $275 per season (fall/winter and spring)
  • Summer: Dues for experienced collegiate and high school rowers who want to continue training during the summer months is $150/summer ($50/month)

Due to the physical nature of rowing, there are limitations on who can safely participate.  While we want to encourage newcomers to try this great sport, not all will be able.  If you or your medical professional have concerns regarding your health, flexibility, stamina, strength and/or stature, please let us know prior to signing up.  Evaluation by an SLRC coach of one’s skills and/or ability to row will also be a part of the determination of an individual’s level of participation.

Additionally, it is imperative that all participants be able to swim.  While it is rare to end up in the water, the danger posed in being unable to swim is too great to risk.
